How to Use Starlink’s Referral Program

Did you know you can earn a free month of service when you refer someone to Starlink? The Starlink referral program that lets you earn service credits each time a friend or family member purchases a dish through your unique referral link. The person you refer also gets a free month.

In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to find your referral link and how to share it with your friends. I’ll go over program availability and restrictions. I will also answer some of the commonly asked questions associated with Starlink referrals.
How to Share Your Starlink Referral Link
- Find your referral link or QR code
If your account is eligible, you’ll find a unique referral URL and QR code in your Starlink account dashboard.
Web browser method: Log in to Starlink.com. On the account dashboard you’ll see the referral section at the top of the page. You can enter in the email or phone number of the person you want to refer, and Starlink will send them your referral link. You can also copy your referral link to send to people.
App method: Open the Starlink app. Tap the profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen to log in. Tap the message, “Free month for you and them”. To show people your referral QR code, tap the QR button on the left. You can also hit the Share button to copy or share your referral link. - Share your referral link
You can share your Starlink referral link or QR code with anyone. When someone clicks on your link they will be directed to the Starlink website. A banner at the top states that they are using your referral link. If they purchase a Starlink kit you will be eligible for a one month service credit on your account.
- Earn a service credit 30 days after activation
If the person you referred makes a qualifying purchase, you will see a service credit applied to your account 30 days after they activate their kit. They will also receive a service credit on their account.
The service credit will be applied to your next monthly invoice.
Check the number of referrals and service credits you’ve earned by visiting your Starlink account dashboard. Remember, it takes at least 30 days for referral credits to be applied to your account, so they might not show up in your statistics right away.
Availability
The Starlink referral program isn’t available everywhere. If you don’t see a referral link on your account dashboard or in the app, it’s probably not available in your country. Starlink customers living in the following countries are eligible to participate:
- Australia
- Brazil
- Chile
- El Salvador
- Mexico
- New Zealand
- United States
Restrictions
Starlink has several restrictions in place to prevent people from abusing the referral program:
- The person you refer must be completely new to Starlink.
- Service credits can only be earned and applied towards Residential and Roam service plan orders.
- The referred customer must keep their subscription active for at least one month after the initial activation.
I also found out that referral credits are only issued for orders made directly from Starlink. Kits purchased from 3rd party retailers and resellers won’t qualify. The person you refer must use your unique referral link for the order to be attributed to your account, there is no way to add it later.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you don’t see a referral section listing your unique link or QR code, your account isn’t eligible to participate in the program. It’s possible that the program isn’t available in your country, or that you have a Business Starlink account, which isn’t eligible.
To qualify for a free service credit, the person you refer must order through your referral link. If they don’t order in the same browser session as when they clicked your link, the order might not qualify. There is no way to add a referral to an existing order.
I recommend you have your friend double check that they see the “Referral Code Applied” on the order page before submitting the order. See the screenshot from step #2 above.
If the person you referred has kept their subscription going for a full 30 days after the initial activation, you will earn a one month service credit. The service credit will be applied to your next billing cycle statement. It could take more than 30 days to see the credit in your account, depending on where you are in your billing cycle.
